2024 Edition
The history
The Movistar men's team has roots dating back some 40 years, but the women's team is only in its seventh season of existence. It entered the WorldTour circuit in 2020 and changed dimension the following year with the surprise recruitment of Annemiek van Vleuten. The Dutch rider finished 2021 as world number one, as in 2017 and 2018, and in 2022 she claimed the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and her fourth world title.
The Dutchwoman, gold in the Olympic time trial in Tokyo, retired at the end of last season, but a new generation has taken over, with riders such as Liane Lippert and Emma Norsgaard, who claimed stage 2 and stage 6, respectively, of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, where Van Vleuten finished fourth overall.
