“Today was an important and special day for Laboral (Kutxa - Fundacion Euskadi). It’s our first Tour and we wanted to try to try and be in the fight for the Combativity prize and the Mountain classification. We gave it our all and we’ve managed to do it. We believed it was possible, we are fighters and we wanted to try it, to force a breakaway and to get the polka dot jersey. Now we have that jersey we will try to defend it and to fight for the GC with Ane Santesteban. It was great to see so many people out on the street supporting women’s cycling, it was incredible.”
