Striking out on her own as the breakaway started to fall apart, Justine Ghekiere summited the Col de Saint-Jean-de-Sixt first to collect another 5 points and ensure she starts the final stage in the polkadot jersey. She averaged 24.7km/h on the 5.4% climb and 23.3km/h on the Grand Bornand to clinch the stage win.

Justin Ghekiere is the second Belgian winner at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift after Lotte Kopecky (Clermont-Ferrand 2023).

 

First win for AG Insurance - Soudal

First win at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift for AG Insurance - Soudal Team. It’s their 10th season win, the previous had come in another Grand Tour, the Giro d’Italia, in stage 8 with Kimberley Le Court.

Maëva Squiban had never scored a top-3 result in a professional race before. She has managed to take it on a very special occasion: a mountain finish at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift!

In her late attack on the final climb, Maëva Squiban not only secured a podium position, but also the QOM for the Grand Bornand climb with a blistering time of 16'43".

A successful day for the break

Having been part of the Break today, and picked up the maximum intermediate sprint points in Frangy, Marianne Vos has secured the green jersey for this year's Tour - provided she finishes within the time cut tomorrow. Today she still had 860m to go when Justine Ghekiere crossed the line.

The climbing domestique's have been pushing the pace to try and catch the remaining breakaway riders and Niamh Fisher-Black proved the fastest on the 5.34km Strava segment for Col de Saint-Jean-de-Sixt. She took over 1 minute off the previous best, claiming the crown with a time of 12'22''.
